Nice early season event. Jumps are smallish for the level, but the questions are asked- ditch and brush, corner, etc. Flat flat flat terrain and sandy footing- gives a nice ride. Show jumping is also on the easier side although a little twisty turny. Overall, a really nice early season event or good move up.
Went to the March 1-day
Prelim
dressage rings had really deep sand that had not been dragged, made for an interesting test. There was also a shortage of stewards so it was hard to tell how the rings were running.
showjumping was a fair course for the level in a flat sandy ring. They had many planks and walls.
XC was fair as well, but the first 4 jumps were smaller than Training height, followed by a Prelim sized AB 3 stride combination. I would have rather seen some Prelim height fences to warm up over before a bigger combination. There was an easy trakehner, and a right hand turn to a smallish right pointed corner. The water was an angled log, 3 or so strides to a medium sized drop into the water, followed by a left hand turn over a skinny log. There was a log bounce with an option, but the distance in the bounce rode well. A bigger left pointed corner was before you went into the woods and did a half coffin with a deep/wide ditch that had white rails. There were 2 easy drop fences and some tables to finish up the course.
