CDCTA
Comment here on your past experiences with the CDCTA Horse Trials. See the first post for a "how-to" of evaluations, and comment away.
This is a forum to find out about and give evaluations of USEA horse trials and events -- define what really IS "average, for horses with some experience at this level"!

CDCTA has a new site this year, and the first event at this new site was held this fall. I was grooming for my instructor and didn't see the cross country, so no comments about that.
However....great parking. Lots and lots of room.
Show jumping warm up and arena had plenty of room and nice terrain. Grass, though, of course. There were some groundhog holes in both show jumping and dressage warm-up. Be alert! Most were marked, but usually only after a rider pointed one out.
The dressage arenas were in a field, and bad footing spots were corrected with stone dust. That does, of course, make the footing inconsistant. It wasn't too bad, though. The worst was that some arenas were on a slant, and as one rider commented "be careful going around by H ... it's like riding the Tilt-A-Wheel!"
Still, it was the first event and I have great hopes for improvements come spring!
